Welcome to the Central Middle School Library. The library is an integral part of the school community. Our students regularly engage in extensive research projects and self-selected reading pursuits using our extensive collection of print and non-print materials.
Our mission is to assist learners to grow in their ability to find, understand and analyze information, integrate it with previous knowledge and communicate it to others.
The Media Center's collection offers a variety of resources with particular attention to the many educational levels, interests, and cultural differences that make CMS a special place to learn and grow!
Students may borrow up to five books at a time. Books and materials are loaned out for three weeks and may be renewed once.
Students with overdue items longer than one week may have their borrowing privileges suspended until overdue items are returned.
Students are responsible for the replacement cost of lost or damaged books and materials. Students who find books that were paid for will be issued a refund. This may take up to six weeks.
Students are required to sign in to the library upon arrival unless accompanied by a teacher.
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all, students are expected to maintain proper library (and school) behavior. This includes:
*considerate noise level
*no running, pushing, or bullying
*respect for staff, peers, and general library environment & materials
Computers in the library are available for class use as well as individual use. However, the AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) applies at all times.
Classes signed up to use the computers have first priority. When computers are available, individual students are welcome to use them in the library.
