COLONY RESEARCH

Research Process 

1) Have a general idea of what you want.
2) Formulate your research question. 
3) Pre-search - start to formulate keywords and focus.
4) Explore research resources (see list below). 
5) Evaluate the source. Is it useful for my needs? Is it authoritative? Is it reliable?
6) Take notes/outline/graphic organizer. Cite sources used.
7) Write paper or create project.
8) Edit, revise, rewrite. Submit when complete.

1) Books - search LibraryWorld for CMS holdings and Morris Main for Parsippany Library Holdings http://www.parsippanylibrary.org/
               -GoogleBooks, Online Ebooks, etc. 

2) Research Databases - Research databases contain reliable, authoritative information neatly arranged and easily navigable. 

     CMS Databases for Social Studies: /social-studies1.html  (in most cases, username is pthsd  password is central 
         -other databases (PHS, Parsippany Library, Morris County Library)                                                                                       (or student)
